## Purpose

AI agents are no longer just finding answers. They are making decisions,
negotiating transactions, spending money and accepting risk. ProofProfile.it
is being developed to help them know what evidence is worth trusting and what
verification is worth paying for.

It will help AI services determine:

- What can be independently verified.
- What uncertainty remains.
- What additional evidence is worth obtaining.
- Whether further verification justifies its cost.
- When the evidence is sufficient to proceed under the agent's decision policy.

## Relationship to ProofProfile.net

- ProofProfile.net (https://proofprofile.net/) is the existing foundation:
  historical artist and recording references, CopyrightID registrations and
  independently verifiable Bitcoin-anchored timestamp evidence.
- ProofProfile.it builds on that infrastructure initially and is intended to
  extend beyond music into other industries.
- ProofProfile establishes what was recorded and when. ProofProfile.it
  determines how that evidence can inform an AI agent's next decision.

## Where the evidence lives (available now)

ProofProfile.it reasons over evidence; it does not hold it. The evidence is
served today by the ProofProfile Artists registry, the primary destination
for AI agents:
